18 miles, 2230m ascent, 11 hours 35 mins
After lugging the pack over Creag Raineach to Shenavall the previous day, we embarked upon the classic round of the 'Fisherfield Six'. I had never been here before and immediately fell in love with this wild area, with its juxtaposition of sea, crag and boulder strewn hills. The river was little more than ankle deep, and the slog up the first hill was soon forgotten once on to the white rocks of Sgurr Ban. We met a solitary fellrunner on the Mullach, then no-one until near the bothy. The round made for a tough outing for Ben after the previous few days, especially on the long return to the bothy, so a few lusty renditions of Ilkley Moor Ba'tat, Ten Green Bottles, etc were needed to jolly Ben along.
