4.5 miles, 770m ascent, 3 hours 28 mins
The start of an ambitious high level backpack in the middle of February. The weather was mild to start with making it feel almost Spring-like but by the evening had returned to winter. After the unfortunate loss of a soft toy at the first stream, ben recovered his poise and the view from the summit over Rannoch Moor as the sun set was magnificent. The camp was a cold boggy spot where the stove wobbled over on the uneven ground, distributing the contents on the grass. I'm afraid that food hygiene went by the by as i stuffed the contents plus grass back in to the pan making for a fiddly meal as we picked out the blades of grass from the pasta. ben took it all in good spirits, later recalling the 'disaster of the pasta'.
